Jesus's Power Looked Nothing Like We Expected

What does someone with real authority actually do with it? In Luke 6, Jesus has every right to demand respect, protect His reputation, and move through the world on His own terms. But that's not what we see. Instead, He stops for a hungry man in a grainfield. He brings a hurting man to the center of the room. He spends an entire night on a mountainside in prayer. And when morning comes, He builds His mission around twelve ordinary people the world would have overlooked. That's the humility of Jesus — and it looks nothing like what we'd expect from someone with that kind of power. In this Bible study, we walk through four things this passage reveals: → Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, and He uses that authority to put people first → Before His biggest decisions, Jesus prayed. All night. → God doesn't build His kingdom through impressive people — He builds it through surrendered ones This passage speaks directly to anyone who's ever felt too ordinary, too flawed, or too overlooked to be used by God. Luke 6 answers that quietly and clearly. Jesus doesn't choose perfect people. He molds them. 📖 Scripture: Luke 6:1–16 Theme: The humility of Jesus, compassion over religion, and ordinary people in God's hands 👇 Drop a comment below: Where in your life do you need Jesus to press in and keep molding you? 🏺 Own a piece of Kelvin's work: Each pottery piece is handcrafted by Kelvin himself — a DeafBlind artist, pastor, and storyteller.
