You Don't Have to Prove Yourself Anymore | Luke 9:46-50

That drive kept me going, but God had a different lesson waiting for me. In Luke 9:46-50, the disciples are walking right alongside Jesus, witnessing miracles firsthand, and still find themselves arguing about who is the greatest. Sound familiar? The problem was never the argument itself. It was the heart behind it. Their eyes had drifted from Jesus to themselves, and honestly, mine had too. Jesus responded not with a lecture but with a child, someone with zero status, zero platform, and zero social standing. He said the least among you is the greatest. That flipped everything I thought I understood about purpose. The pottery wheel teaches me this same truth every time I sit down to create. The clay does not compete with other clay. It simply surrenders to the potter. The wheel reveals the skill of the potter, not the clay. Our lives should work the same way, shaped by God so that people see Christ, not us. So wherever you are today, whatever you have been trying to prove, and to whoever you have been trying to prove it to, I want you to hear this. Your value was already established by the One who created you. You do not have to keep chasing recognition. Jesus never called us to prove ourselves. He called us to follow Him.
