Healing Begins When You Stop Hiding

There is a difference between looking okay and actually being okay. And a lot of us have gotten really good at the first one. In Luke 7:36–50 we meet a woman who walked into a room full of people who already knew her reputation. She did not hide it. She came to Jesus completely broken, crying at His feet, not caring what anyone else thought. And Jesus did not push her away. He welcomed her, defended her publicly, and sent her away with something nobody else in that room could give her. Peace. In this study we walk through what this passage shows us about pride, humility, grace, and what actually happens when broken people stop hiding and come honestly to Jesus. In this episode I also get honest about something I do not talk about much, the seasons where I tried to fill emotional emptiness with food. The hard part about that struggle is you can hide it in plain sight. People may not see the battle but you feel it every day. This woman reminded me of something I needed to hear. Jesus is not waiting for perfect people. He welcomes broken people who come honestly. The Potter cannot shape clay that keeps resisting.
