Light Up The Sky | Daniel 12:3

Remember, our next book is 1 Timothy. The series is entitled — It's Time To Clean Up The Church. So get ready and get your journal in hand. Our text today is from Daniel 12:3. This is the last word from Gabriel as he concludes explaining the vision. And it reads: And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. — Daniel 12:3 So what does this mean? Well, Gabriel is telling Daniel that beyond tribulation, there's hope. He is telling him and us that while the world is going to grow increasingly dim till the time is done, on the other side, there is light. Fellas, this is pretty easy to predict, but the world will grow increasingly dim over the coming years. It's going to get progressively darker. That's the general theme of this entire prophecy. We will be darkened by persecution, trials, and suffering because Lucifer and the people who do his bidding will be driven by sin and selfishness. They have dominion over this present world and the present time. But eventually, this will come to an end. And when it does, we will not be forgotten. When the final war is fought, this time will end, and God will claim victory. And when that happens, we will shine like stars forever. Fellas, no matter how oppressed and down you are today, you must continue putting your faith in Jesus and his ultimate victory. Sometimes this will be the only way you can get through your challenges. So tuck away in the back of your mind that we will light up the sky one day. And this is not the power of positive self-talk mustered by mental effort to negate negative realities so we can get through a present challenge. If you want that, listen to Tony Robbins. Which, by the way, doesn't work because you cannot wish away the problems of the present by pretending they don't exist. What you can do, however, is embrace suffering clinging to future victory based on the promises given to us in Daniel by God through the angel Gabriel. So in your troubles today, anchor yourself in the truth that victory is coming when the present feels dark. And let's cling to the fact that we, along with Daniel, will light up the sky in eternity.
