What do you do when someone you love won’t change? You pray for them. You reason with them. You revisit the same conversations. You hope for a breakthrough that never seems to come. Maybe it’s a spouse. A child. A parent. A friend. Someone you love deeply, but cannot change. In today’s devotional on 1 Peter 3:1-6, Peter speaks to Christian wives married to unbelieving husbands. In the Roman world, this created real tension inside the home because wives were often expected to follow their husband’s religion. But Peter does not shame them. He does not tell them to abandon hope. And he does not give them a method for controlling the outcome. He points them toward faithful witness. Peter says some may be won “without a word” by the conduct of their wives. This does not mean Christians should never speak truth. It means transformation belongs to God. You cannot pressure someone into repentance. You cannot force spiritual growth. You cannot control another person’s heart. But you can remain faithful. You can keep doing good. You can entrust the outcome to God. If you are carrying the burden of someone you love who will not change, this devotional will help you release control, resist fear, and reflect Christ with steady faith.
