Who Told You Who You Are? | 1 Peter 2:9-10

Who told you who you are? Every day, voices compete to define you. Culture tells you who you should be. Social media invites you to build an identity around an image. Critics label you by your failures. Even your own past whispers reminders of who you used to be. But Peter reminds believers in 1 Peter 2:9-10 that the most important thing about them isn't what others say. It's what God says. Peter declares that believers in Christ are: • A chosen race • A royal priesthood • A holy nation • A people for God's own possession Drawing on both Exodus and Hosea, Peter reveals that the promises of restoration have been fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Those who once were not God's people have now become God's people. Those who once had not received mercy have now received mercy. Your identity is not determined by your accomplishments, failures, wounds, desires, or the opinions of others. If you belong to Christ, the truest thing about you is this: You are God's.
