Do you ever feel pressure to fit in? Most of us do. We want to be accepted, understood, and included. We don't want to stand out for the wrong reasons. So we adapt. We soften convictions. We hide parts of ourselves. We try to belong. But Peter reminds believers in 1 Peter 2:11-12 that Christians are "sojourners and exiles." This world is not our ultimate home. Our citizenship belongs to another kingdom. That doesn't mean we withdraw from the culture around us. Nor does it mean we become combative toward people who disagree with us. Peter offers a different way. He calls believers to abstain from sinful desires and live such honorable lives that even those who criticize them will eventually see something different. Something beautiful. The early Christians changed the world not through outrage but through virtue. They loved their neighbors. Served the vulnerable. Lived with integrity. Reflected Christ. You don't have to fit in. You simply have to live so faithfully, so honorably, and so beautifully that people catch a glimpse of Jesus through you.
