Ignoring the Simplicity of Faith in Christ-Romans 10:4-10

In THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JESUS, Dr. MacArthur writes, "Contrary to much teaching today, Scripture never separates Christ's lordship from His saviorhood. 'Lord' is a name which signifies sovereign power and authority. In the book of Acts, Jesus is twice referred to as Savior but 92 times as Lord. In the entire NT, He is referred to some 10 times as Savior and some 700 times as Lord. When the 2 titles are mentioned together 'Lord" always precedes 'Savior.' And even if, as some erroneously contend, 'Lord' were simply a synonym for 'God,' the very term 'God,' by definition includes the idea of sovereign authority, that is, of lordship." Jesus is both Savior and Lord to all who believe. This coming Lord's Day we'll look at man's responsibility to surrender to Christ's lordship as we place our faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. Unbelievers of our day are just like the unbelieving Jews of Paul's day who desired to establish their own righteousness, rather than understanding that God's righteousness could be theirs if they were not "Ignoring the Simplicity of Faith in Christ" (Romans 10:4-10).
