3-Wives Like the Church

In 1992 Kerrin-Lee Gartner of Calvary, Alberta became the first Canadian in history to win Olympic gold in the women's downhill. In Canada she was an immediate sensation. Shortly after her victory, an announcer interviewing her commented that this must surely be the most significant day of her life. "No," she replied. "The most significant day was the day of my marriage--but this ranks pretty high." Even the greatest of achievements cannot compare with the greatest relationships. Kerrin-Lee expressed the proper biblical priority, that the most important human relationship for those who are married is their marriage. Here at Grace Bible Church, Talent Oregon our midweek Bible study has been focused on God's "Blueprint of a Healthy Marriage." We've already covered His architecture for marriage, along with the husband's role of loving his wife as Christ loved the Church. This week we transition from "Husbands Who are Like Christ" to "Wives Who are Like the Church." Granted, submission may be a dirty word in the world, but not in Scripture and not in the Church. Join us Wednesday at 6:00 as we look at the biblical definition of submission against the negative backdrop of what it is NOT.
