He focuses first on Acts 2 and Pentecost, showing that Luke weaves key terms like the Greek word behind “divided” (diamerizō) and the word for “bewildered” (sunkhutheō) to evoke Deuteronomy 32 and Genesis 11, respectively, thus connecting the scattering of the nations at Babel and their disinheritance after the exile with the regathering of the nations at Pentecost through the Spirit’s work.
