Christian, how are you doing in the area of contentment and biblical stewardship? Puritan John Flavel warned, "Reader, I advise thee, under all disappointments of thy expectations, to bless God for any comfortable enjoyment thou hast. If God give thee a smaller estate and a contented heart, it is as well--yea, better--than if thou hadst enjoyed thy desire. The bee makes a sweeter meal upon two or three flowers than the ox that hath so many mountains to graze upon." The issue of finances tends to be a sticking point in marriages, due to ignorance and diligent application of the biblical principles of stewardship. Do you want some biblical counsel on growing in Christian contentment, like we're exhorted to maintain (1 Tim 6:6-10)? Join us for our midweek Bible study on "A Brief Biblical Theology of Finance",pt 1.
