Disastrous Contradictions-Rom 2:1-5

British pastor Spurgeon warned that, "Some men profess a great deal; but we must not believe any one unless we see that his deeds answer to what he says." In the book of Romans Paul has been instructing us on man's condemnation in sin and our great need to be justified by God Himself. It includes not just Gentiles, but Jews as well. While the Gentiles are worthy of death and judgment by God, the Jews equally so, since they practice the same sins for which they judge the Gentiles. Their special favor by God, as His own special people, will not save them. God is an impartial judge towards sin, yet He is kind and patient towards sinners, granting them time to turn to Him in repentant faith.
