3-Church History: From Pentecost to Patmos

In 1982 an intriguing book hit stores and it was titled The Book of Firsts. Encompassing several hundred pages, it lists several thousand significant firsts. And while it is fascinating for the trivia it exposes, man is naturally curious about origins. We like to know where things come from. Most significant firsts, though, would be the origin of the universe, earth, life, and sin. They have a profound effect on how we see the world, in other words, our worldview. What about the origin of the Church? This is the primary organism through which the Lord has worked in the world for just over 2,000 years. Our 3rd study in Historical Theology at 6:00 tonight is a look at the beginning and extension of the 1st century church in the book of Acts, "From Pentecost to Patmos."
