Anxiety & Fear,pt4

Esteemed biblical counselor, Stuart Scott writes, "From the time we were young children we were told, 'Be Brave! Show not fear!' This was especially true for boys. And yet, we live in a society where anxiety and fear are rampant. Even though we, as Christians, should not and need not worry, we still find reasons to be anxious and fearful. Many people experience more worry than they care to admit, living in a state of anxiety and rarely having a sense of peace. Some have trouble sleeping nights and try to manage their worries and fears with medications. Still others suffer what our society labels as debilitating 'panic attacks; or even worse, 'nervous breakdowns.' Husbands have great potential for worry because they have such great responsibility, and wives are often overwhelmed with responsibilities of the caring for the children and upkeep of the home. We all face pressures and problems in life to one degree or another. The good news is that God speaks a great deal about anxiety and fear in His Word. He knows the difficulties we face. He has also given Christians everything they need to trust Him and find peace of mind. The problem is that many of us don't understand anxiety and fear, or how to combat them." So, dear friend, would you like to learn like the Psalmist "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You" (Ps 56:3)?
