Free From the Law Through Union With Christ-Rom 7:1-6

The glory and pride of Israel was the Law--Torah--that God gave to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai. Songs praised it, festivals celebrated it, lives were measured by it and God gave it. Torah was, in the words of Paul, "the embodiment of knowledge and truth," which enabled one who knew it to be a "guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, an instructor of the foolish," and "a teacher of infants" (Rom 2:18-20). But what should Christians in the Church today think of Old Testament Law? Does it still have binding authority? Is it still beneficial? What does it mean to be dead to the Law while still confessing with Paul that it is good? The beloved Apostle Paul answers much of this in our next text as we unpack the next paragraph of Romans in this Sunday's exposition "Free From the Law Through Union With Christ" (Rom 7:1-6).
