Abrahamic Faith in God's Power, Not Man's-Rom 4:18-25

Most of us are aware of the German minister, George Muller, who implicitly believed 'My God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus' (Phil 4:19). He constantly faced obstacles of provision, but his hope remained steadfast. He exclaimed, "Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible...There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible." No it was not a nebulous faith for faith's sake but one that affirmed "The vigor of our spiritual life will be in exact proportion to the place held by the Bible in our life and thoughts." Thus the orphanage children saw the example of one who rested his faith in God's faithfulness to deliver on His promises. And was this not the secret to Abraham's faith, as he believed what God said? The person and promises of God are our resting place for both salvation and sanctification. Join us this coming Lord's Day as we close out our study of Romans 4 with "Abrahamic Faith in God's Power, Not Man's." (Rom 4:18-25).
