If the Reformation Was From God—Where Are the Miracles?

Recently, former atheist Joe Schmid from Majesty of Reason (@MajestyofReason) shocked the philosophy world when he announced his reversion to Roman Catholicism. And he largely credited numerous Roman Catholic miracles, such as Fatima, as one of the driving reasons. However, in the process, he raised the objection that if God was truly behind the Protestant Reformation then why didn't He give a vindicatory miracle to the efforts of Luther and the Reformers to demonstrate His approval like He allegedly has for Roman Catholicism?
And while this may be something many contemporary Protestants and evangelicals haven't given much thought to, this was actually a major point of back and forth during the era of the Reformation. So in this episode, I want to address Joe's question by dusting off the sources and tracing the historic back and forth to see where it lands us. Is it a valid objection? What should Protestants make of vindicatory miracles? And does this nullify the efforts of the Reformation?
