Comfort Faith and the Problem With Feel-Good Posts

Comfort faith promises relief. A verse. A quote. A post that makes things feel better for a moment. But relief is not the same as orientation, and feeling better is not the same as becoming well-aligned. In this video, I challenge the growing idea that faith exists primarily to soothe discomfort. We look at how feel-good posts, inspirational snippets, and comfort-first theology can quietly train us to avoid engagement, avoid responsibility, and avoid growth—while still calling it faith. This is not an attack on faith. It’s a reframing of it. Faith was never meant to anesthetize you. It was meant to orient you—especially when things are hard. If faith is only useful when it calms you down, what happens when life demands that you stand up instead?
