Jesus Drew the Line First

Find the rapture in the Bible. The full modern scene — people vanishing, cars crashing, planes dropping, believers pulled up before the chaos. Not stitched-together verses. Not a system somebody built. Where does the Bible just say it? Ask that honestly and it gets uncomfortable fast. Because most Christians don't inherit Scripture. They inherit a reading of Scripture — a framework, a set of emphases, an architecture handed down so many times it stopped feeling like interpretation and started feeling like obvious truth. The rapture is just the doorway. The modern version got popular through John Nelson Darby in the 1800s, then spread through the Scofield Reference Bible and the prophecy culture that formed around it — a late framework that gained authority by sitting next to the biblical page. Repeat anything long enough and it becomes sacred by survival. Here's the part nobody wants to hear: Jesus drew this line first. When they handed Him the tradition of the elders, He looked straight at it and split it down the middle — "you set aside the command of God to keep your tradition." This part is the Father. This part is yours, and you've been calling it Mine. So the real question isn't whether to respect tradition. It's whether tradition gets a free pass just because it's old. Whether Christ governs historical inheritance — or historical inheritance governs Christ.
