What do you do when someone wrongs you—do you want justice, or do you really want payback? Summary Judges 15 is a story of blurred lines between justice and revenge. Samson’s personal hurts drove him into escalating retaliation, multiplying violence instead of restraining it. This chapter reminds us that while revenge reacts out of emotion, true justice responds with truth, restraint, and God’s righteousness. Reflection & Small Group Questions 1. Why do you think revenge feels so natural when we’re wronged? 2. How does Samson’s cycle of retaliation mirror the way conflicts escalate in our lives? 3. What’s the difference between revenge multiplying and justice limiting? 4. How can we discern the fine line between standing for justice and seeking personal payback? 5. In what ways does personal hurt cloud our ability to judge rightly? 6. How can you ensure you are reasoning with the Spirit of truth rather than raw emotion when wronged? 7. What cycle of retaliation in your life needs to be broken by forgiveness? 8. How does Jesus’ response to injustice on the cross contrast with Samson’s? 9. Why is Romans 12:19–21 so hard to live out in moments of betrayal or offense? 10. What practical steps can you take to choose restoration over escalation when someone wrongs you?
