Happy are the Humble-Matthew 5:3

When William Carey, the great missionary pioneer to India, the "Father of Modern Missions", was on his deathbed, he was visited by a missionary named Alexander Duff. He spent some time talking primarily about Carey's missionary life, until finally the dying man whispered, 'Pray.' Duff knelt down and prayed, and then said goodbye. As he passed from the room, he heard a feeble voice calling him back. Carey said to him, 'Mr. Duff, you have been speaking about Dr. Carey. When I am gone, say nothing about Dr. Carey--speak about Dr. Carey's Savior." The humility that characterized William Carey is the same humility that should characterize believers, as they recognize their littleness and grow in greater dependence on their Lord.
