David Described the Cross Before Rome Invented It

One thousand years before the Romans perfected crucifixion, a Hebrew king wrote a clinical description of a death by that exact method, a method his own people did not practice. Israel executed by stoning, never by the cross. So where did this report come from? A forensic reading of Psalm 22, verse by verse.
Psalm 22 is usually read as poetry, a vague song of suffering. This investigation reads it as something else: a forensic report. Pierced hands and feet, dislocated bones under prolonged suspension, extreme thirst, circulatory collapse, garments divided while one piece is cast for separately. Each detail maps onto the anatomy of crucifixion, a means of execution that did not yet exist as a way to kill when David wrote. The garments clue alone (Psalm 22:18, set beside John 19:23-24 and the seamless tunic) resists every attempt to call it coincidence. And the opening cry of the Psalm, the same words Christ speaks on the cross, was never despair: it pointed the crowd to the whole text, whose ending is not death but a kingdom. The case is narrow and the evidence is the text itself.
