Israel didn’t reject God by becoming atheists — they rejected Him by demanding visible authority instead of invisible obedience. That same instinct is alive today. Ancient buildings feel compelling. Ritual feels serious. Structure feels holy. But reverence is not obedience. Tradition is not truth. And structure is not submission. You can kneel, chant, fast, confess — and still never obey the voice of God. When God feels silent, people don’t stop seeking authority. They just start confusing certainty with truth.
