"I Want Nothing MORE than Staying in a RELATIONSHIP with JESUS." | Michael's Story

When Michael was young, he and his brother got into drugs and alcohol way too young, and it created a terrible pattern for him as a kid. His behavior got him kicked out of his home, and running with the wrong crowd in high school got him arrested and imprisoned for his part in a home robbery. On his way to prison, anger and suicidal thoughts surrounded him, but the words of his grandmother stuck in his head: “Lift your eyes to the hills,” a quote from Psalm 121:1. After arriving to prison, Michael made a friend who gave him a devotional. He thought nothing of it until seeing a photo sticking out from the pages one morning, reading: Lift your eyes to the hills, that’s where your help comes from— Psalm 121:1. Michael had gone so long thinking he couldn’t possibly be seen or heard by God, but in that moment, he stared at the devotional and cried out to Him. God answered him: “I’m right here.” Michael went on to give his life to Jesus, get baptized, and change his whole outlook from there in prison. “Before I was incarcerated, I was a slave to sin. Making the decision to follow Jesus doesn’t mean everything’s going to be perfectly fine, but it means that he’s got you, in every season.” https://www.godbehindbars.com/ Instagram: @Godbehindbars Facebook: @Godbehindbars Twitter: @Godbehindbars #LifeStory #Testimony #Jesus #GodBehindBars
