And this is not just a 444-year-old artifact. It is evidence. Evidence that the Word of God in English did not begin where many people think it did. Evidence that long before modern denominations argued over canon, translation, or authority, believers were already preserving, translating, defending, and dying for these texts. Evidence that the story we have often been told about biblical history may be far too small. But today, a new cultural narrative is gaining influence. We are being told that we have evolved past the need for a historical Bible. That Scripture is merely a metaphor for the human condition.
