Where is 7th century Islam? A quick Synopsis! (#8)

In this 8-minute recap Jay covers a quick overview of what he and Al Fadi have discussed so far in this series concerning Muhammad and early Islam. He notes that in the previous 7 episodes of this series they have recounted and unpacked a number of cogent areas in their search to find any references for Islam in the 7th century. Yet, they still can't even locate any references to the Muhammad of the later 9th-10th century traditions in the century he supposedly lived, the 7th century. They began by asking why the traditions were written so late, over 200 - 300 years after the events they were reporting, and compiled by men who lived 1000s of miles from the area these events supposedly occurred? Jay made a comparison with the later 2nd and 3rd century Gnostic traditions concerning the life and sayings of Jesus Christ, which portray Jesus as devious and inept, and only interested in using his power to harm and even kill people; a completely different Jesus from what we read in the much earlier Gospel accounts of his life and sayings. Jay contended that if you wanted to know the true historical Jesus you would never go to the later Gnostic traditions to find out about him, but you would go to those pieces of evidence which come from the same time he lived and from the same place he resided, the Gospel accounts. In the same way, we shouldn't be looking to the much later 9th - 10th century Islamic Traditions to find out about Muhammad, but should be going to those pieces of evidence which exist in the same time period he supposedly lived, and in the same area he supposedly came from. Yet, when we do that, we find absolutely nothing, suggesting pretty clearly that the historical credibility for this man and this faith are dire indeed. When they looked at the Qur'an, they noted that the Qira'at Qur'ans (the official 30 different readings of the Qur'an) proved that the Qur'an itself was first compiled and rewritten numerous times in the 8th, 9th and 10th centuries, which completely contradicted what the Standard Islamic Narratives (SIN) tell us. The coins and the rock Inscriptions from the 7th century, which are the best objects we have from the very place and era Muhammad and early Islam existed, clearly suggest that there was nothing Islamic at all until after 690 AD, once again completely confronting the Standard Islamic Narrative (SIN). What they have found in these first 7 episodes conclude pretty concretely that the person called Muhammad, as well as the people known as Muslims (including the first 4 'rightly guided caliphs'), the religion called Islam, the city called Mecca, and the book referred to as the Qur'an cannot be found on any artifact at all prior to 690 AD, which is around 60 years after Muhammad supposedly died! They still have much to cover in their search for a 7th century Islam, but it is good to take a pause and ascertain where exactly they have bee, and reiterate what they have found.
