I was wrong about this Christian belief.

This is one of the most important interviews I've done this year so far. Most of my Christian life, I had always been very confused about the expectations Christians have of one another when it comes to forgiveness. There are beautiful things about forgiveness. But there is such a thing as "therapeutic forgiveness" that can actually totally wreck a person. Nobody is talking about this like Teasi is. Therapeutic forgiveness (or counterfeit forgiveness) is hurting you. And this is what MANY Christians believe is a biblical view of forgiveness. I believe "therapeutic forgiveness" is used in cover-up culture, in abusive leadership, and puts a burden on the victim that Jesus never modeled or taught. I hope that by the end of this video, you'll see that therapeutic forgiveness is actually a relatively recent doctrine. It's not how Christians have historically and biblically understood forgiveness. (And it's actually very obvious in Scripture.)
