Basic Bible Doctrine: Prolegomena (Introduction)

Calling all theology nerds! What? You're not into a formal systematic approach to theology? Charles Spurgeon replied to objectors, "Systematic theology is to the Bible what science is to nature. To suppose that all the other works of God are orderly and systematic, and the greater work the more perfect the system: and that the greatest of all His works, in which all His perfections are transcendently displayed, should have no plan or system, is altogether absurd." We're grateful for the many good and godly theologians through the centuries who have taught and defended the truth, even though it has many times taken much effort to systematize it into clear categories. We looked at many of these men in our most recent Church History study (Historical Theology). And it's been a couple of years since our systematic study of God (Theology Proper) and now we're embarking on this exciting study of "The Doctrine of Scripture" (Bibliology). We'll look at the transmission of Scripture from the prophets and apostle down to us today, inspiration, inerrancy, revelation, etc. Join us for midweek Bible study each Wednesday at 6:00!
