The Heart of Modesty, pt1

Spurgeon was insightful in pointing out the irony of how, "Men fight against God with God's own gifts. A woman endowed with beauty, the rare gift of God, uses it to ensnare others into sin. God gives us garments, and there are some who use their very garments for nothing else but pride, and who go through the world with no motive but display." Probably no teaching of Scripture more confronts our highly sexualized culture as that of Christian modesty. How we dress is a barometer of where our heart it at. In our midweek Bible study "The Heart of Modesty" we will be equipping the saints on how to think about shepherding, discipling, parenting, (even grand parenting) our own hearts & those entrusted to our care so that the Church can be an island of righteousness in this sea of paganism. As recipients of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we desire to be signposts pointing to Him rather than self!
