“This season for the church is like Dunkirk. We may not take a lot of new ground, but we can rescue everyone.” A colleague shared this insight from a mutual friend recently. This is how I fleshed it out the metaphor when speaking to the people who serve New Life Downtown recently.
The church's victory in this season won’t be institutional; it will be a personal. It won’t be the result of massive programs and systems and services; it will require everyone to reach someone. Everybody rescue somebody.
