Why do Christians talk about having peace even in the middle of suffering?
The Bible teaches that the peace Jesus gives isn't dependent on perfect circumstances. You can experience loss without losing hope. You can walk through hardship while knowing God is with you. Biblical joy is deeper than temporary happiness because it isn't based solely on what happens around you.
In Galatians 5:22–23, Paul describes the fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are not personality traits that Christians manufacture on their own. They are the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.
If you've ever wondered why genuine Christians can have hope during life's hardest moments, the Bible points to the transforming work of God's Spirit.
