Nobody talks about what leading on empty does to your sound.

For a long time I thought I needed a bigger window. A full hour. A cleared afternoon. Candle lit, nobody home. What use to work for me was waiting for the perfect conditions, and the perfect conditions never showed up. So I stopped waiting. Ten minutes after the school run. Bible open on the kitchen counter, phone face down in another room. Some mornings nothing moves. Some mornings one line drops and ends up carrying a whole chorus. The altar is not a reward for having your life in order. The altar is where you go before you have anything worth bringing. And the reason your sound feels stuck might not be a technique problem at all. You might be building higher on a platform while skipping the ground the platform stands on. Leviticus 6:13 says the fire on the altar must be kept burning. Never go out. Which tells me the fire was never meant to be a one off encounter. Somebody had to tend it. Daily. Before anyone watched. That is what TEND is.
