Worship leaders, when was the last time you prayed through a song before you sang it? We live in a time where other voices are rising. Other names are being elevated. Other “gods” are being presented through music, media and culture. And in the middle of all of that noise, you stand on a platform with a microphone and an open Bible. Do you know the weight of that? The songs we sing are not performances. They are declarations. They are prayers. They are theology wrapped in melody. And if we are not careful, we will sing words we have never wrestled with. We will lead people into lyrics we have never prayed through ourselves. In this video, I am doing what I believe every worship leader needs to learn to do. I am praying through the song before it is ever sung in a corporate setting. I am declaring that Jesus Christ is Lord. That every other god is an idol. That they cannot see and they cannot hear. That at the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess. This is what it looks like to lead from the altar.
