Why 30 Pieces of Silver Matters | Watch Full Video Below | Subscribe

One of the most striking details of Jesus' betrayal is the price. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah, the King of Kings, was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. In Exodus 21:32, 30 shekels of silver is associated with the value paid for a slave. That makes the betrayal even more powerful. Jesus was not merely betrayed. He was undervalued. The One who created the universe was sold for the price of a slave. This is part of the humiliation that Jesus willingly endured on the way to the cross. The gospel is the story of the King who humbled Himself, suffered for sinners, and gave His life as a ransom for many.
