You Have Been Spreading Theology You Have Never Verified

Your set list is a doctrinal statement. Have you read it like one? Most worship leaders audit their sound before they audit their theology. They check the key, the arrangement, the flow. But they never sit with the lyrics the way a preacher sits with a text before they preach it. And the congregation does not know the difference. They receive what you release. They internalize what you sing over them. Week after week, song after song, their understanding of God is being shaped by words you may have chosen because they were trending. Paul was clear in Colossians 3 that songs are a form of teaching. Which means you are not exempt from the responsibility of accuracy just because you are holding a microphone instead of a Bible. Go back through your set list this week. Read every lyric like a teacher preparing a lesson. Ask whether what you are singing is actually true. That is not extra work. That is the job.
