Some people claim the Old Testament sacrificial system was nothing more than priests taking people's property. But that overlooks the different types of sacrifices described in Scripture. Some offerings, like burnt offerings, were completely consumed. Others, such as fellowship offerings, were shared between the worshiper, the priests, and the Lord as part of a covenant meal.
