Moses came out of the Holy of Holies glowing. That’s what happens when worship leaders pray first.

“Prayer doesn’t change God. Prayer changes us.” That one line from Dr. Temi Odejide stopped me in my tracks during yesterday’s Before the Song masterclass. We spend so much time trying to use prayer to get God to do something. But He’s already done the work. The finished work is finished. So what’s actually happening when you pray? You are changing. You are being shaped. You are being possessed by heaven. And when you come out of that place and step onto the platform to lead, people will know. Think about Moses walking out of the Holy of Holies with his face still shining. That’s what a worship leader who prays looks like. You carry something that rehearsal alone will never produce. Dr. Temi said something that reset my whole mindset: your priority should never be the public ministry. Your priority should be the private intercession. And your public ministry should be the overflow of what happened in private. Read that again. If yesterday’s masterclass stirred something in you, the replay is available now. And if you’re ready to go deeper into the Word and build the kind of foundation Dr. Temi is talking about, Eat the Scroll is open. 12 months through the book of Revelation, built specifically for worship leaders who refuse to stay on the surface.
