What if you discovered that God doesn't just give you an inheritance — you are His inheritance? In this verse-by-verse study of 1 Corinthians 15 and Ephesians 1, we explore our position in Christ and what happens after His thousand-year reign.
Starting in 1 Corinthians 15:25-30, Les unpacks Christ's reign until all enemies are under His feet, with death as the last enemy destroyed. He cross-references Ephesians 1:17-23, where Paul prays believers would know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints — a stunning revelation that we are God's inheritance. From there, he takes us to Daniel 7:9-14, where the Ancient of Days gives dominion to the Son of Man, and to Isaiah 9:6-7, where the Son is called Mighty God and Everlasting Father. Returning to 1 Corinthians 15:28, Les tackles the truth that even Christ will subject Himself to the Father so that God may be all in all. He then addresses the difficult verse about baptism for the dead, explaining it as Spirit baptism into the body of Christ from 1 Corinthians 12:13.
