The Church Built A Worship Service And Forgot To Build The Worship Leader

You were trained to output. Nobody taught you to receive. And the church did not do it maliciously. The assumption was that giftedness and formation were the same thing. That if you could lead a room, you were spiritually resourced enough to keep doing it indefinitely. But you know what that assumption actually produces. You show up. You carry the room. You navigate every transition, hold the band together, usher people into something real. And then you drive home, sit in a quiet car, and feel nothing. That is not ingratitude. That is not weak faith. That is what depletion looks like when it has been dressed up as dedication long enough that nobody noticed, including you. The church built a worship service. It forgot to build the worship leader. I am building something for January that starts with your formation, not your performance.
