Who is the Messiah? In the Old Testament, the Messiah is God's promised and anointed King. He would come from the line of David, save God's people, establish His kingdom, and bring restoration. Christians believe Jesus fulfills these promises because He is presented as the promised King, the Son of David, the suffering servant, and the one through whom God brings salvation to the world. Some of the most well-known prophecies include: 📖 Psalm 22 — "They have pierced my hands and my feet." 📖 Isaiah 7:14 — "The virgin will conceive." 📖 Isaiah 53 — "He was pierced because of our rebellion, crushed because of our iniquities." These passages were written centuries before Jesus and are among the reasons Christians believe He is the promised Messiah.
