Researchers Finally Decoded the Dead Sea Scrolls | Watch Full Video Below | Subscribe

The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947, but one of their greatest mysteries remained unsolved for nearly 80 years. In research published in late 2025 and early 2026, scholar Alexey (Aleksey) Oliviero and colleagues proposed a breakthrough in understanding the mysterious Cryptic A and Cryptic B scripts found among some of the scrolls. Rather than representing a different language, the evidence suggests these writings may be simple substitution ciphers, where each symbol stands for a Hebrew or Aramaic letter. While the idea sounds straightforward, deciphering an unknown substitution alphabet without a key is an enormous challenge. Thousands of possible combinations must be tested before meaningful words begin to emerge, which helps explain why the mystery remained unsolved for decades. This discovery doesn't change the message of the Bible, but it gives scholars a better understanding of how some ancient Jewish scribes recorded and protected their writings.
