Ethiopian Christianity's Turbulent history as told by Dr Amenu, General Secretary of Mekane Yesus

Jay sits down with the General Secretary of the Mekane Yesus denomination (which means "Place of Jesus"), one of the largest Ethiopian Evangelical denominations, and the group which invited Dr Smith to teach at their seminary in Addis Ababa. The Mekane Yesus is the largest member church of the Lutheran World Federation as well, established in 1959, and has a membership of over 12 million people, worshiping in 16,000 churches throughout Ethiopia. Jay asked Dr Amenu to talk about the legacy of Christianity in Ethiopia which boasts probably the longest and strongest legacy of an ongoing majority Christian presence of any country on earth, a history which includes carving out of sheer rock the 11 amazing Lalibela churches in northern Ethiopia.
