Asherah entered the home. She was the mother goddess of fertility. Archaeologists have found inscriptions reading: "I bless you by Yahweh... and his Asherah." Israel didn't abandon God—they gave Him a wife. King Manasseh even put a carved Asherah pole inside the Holy of Holies, sharing God's room with a lie for 55 years. 🔥 MOLECH: THE ULTIMATE TRANSACTION No nation arrives at Molech without first passing through Baal. If religion is an economic transaction, Molech demanded the highest premium: human flesh. King Ahaz sacrificed his own children in the Valley of Hinnom (the Topheth). They beat drums to drown out the screams of the parents. ⛰️ GEHENNA: THE WOUND THAT NEVER CLOSED After the exile, the Valley of Hinnom became a burning garbage dump. The Greek word for it was Gehenna. When Jesus spoke of hell—the place where the fire is not quenched—He used the name of the valley where Israel burned its own children. The place of their worst sin became the word for eternal separation from God. 🚪 THE DEPARTURE God didn't destroy the Temple.
