“Let He Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone” – Jesus and the Woman Caught in Adultery

Early in the morning, Jesus was teaching in the temple when the scribes and Pharisees brought a woman caught in the very act of adultery. They made her stand in the middle and said to Jesus, “Teacher, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” They asked this to trap Him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger. When they kept pressing Him, He stood up and said, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Then He bent down again and continued writing. One by one, beginning with the elders, they dropped their stones and walked away. Jesus was left alone with the woman. He asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She replied, “No one, sir.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you.
