God PROMISED…. this is important. A prophecy is a declaration spoken in advance—an authoritative announcement that a future event will unfold according to God’s sovereign plan. Prophecy is foretelling: the unveiling of what God will do, revealed ahead of time so that when it comes to pass, His people recognize His hand, His wisdom, and His faithfulness. A promise moves us from the realm of prediction to the realm of relationship. A promise is personal—a commitment made from one party to another, an assurance that something will indeed come to pass, and it comes with the declaration that the one who promises is personally guaranteeing it will come to pass.
