In Genesis 3, Satan tempts Eve to question God's word, and she eats from the forbidden tree, choosing death over life. Adam follows, and sin enters the world, bringing shame, fear, and broken relationships. Yet even in pronouncing judgment, God immediately promises a Savior who will crush the serpent's head.
How did Satan tempt Eve in a way she couldn’t refuse? Why does she choose death over life? How does God provide life outside of Eden? Why does Eve get a new name after the fall?
Join Michelle Bauman and Pastor Goodman as they explore where we find life issues in Genesis 3 including:
How choosing independence from God mirrors modern life issues
Why God clothes Adam and Eve in animal skins as a sign of both death and love
The life-affirming promise of a Savior found in Genesis 3:15
How sin makes way for life issues such as abortion, physician-assisted suicide as well as infertility, illness, disability, and others.
Contributor Michelle Bauman is the Director of Y4Life.
Contributor Rev. Harrison Goodman is the Higher Things Executive Director of Missions and Theology.
