Painting of Jesus in Less Than 5 Minutes

**This is a re-upload from April 2019.**
This was filmed at my old church by some of our wonderful production crew for Palm Sunday.
The song that I laid over this is called the Great I AM by new Life Worship. Being an ex New Thoughter, this song has a very different meaning for me. I used to think I AM meant that *I* was God, that I could harness an inner power of divinity by affirming I AM like Jesus did. I now stand in awe at the majesty of who Jesus is, a humbling reminder that He and He alone is -uniquely- the I AM, and I'm a sinner saved by His sacrifice and grace. This is HIS gift that He gave to me. Jesus is the Artist!
We did this in one nonstop shot with three camera angles. It took me four months of practice *every day* to get this right. This was done with black acrylic paint with my hands and a single Filbert size 16 brush on a 48x60 canvas. I still have a LOT to learn. This whole process was humbling and incredible to be a part of.
I know I'll be accused of making a graven image just for painting this. I'd encourage people to look at those passages in the Old Testament and read what exactly a graven image is, then observe if that's indeed what's going on here. Here are some good articles about that:
