Jesus was not dying because He was guilty.
He was dying in the place of the guilty.
That is the heart of the gospel. We have sinned, we fall short of the glory of God, and we deserve judgment. But Jesus stepped into our place and took the punishment sinners deserve.
Isaiah 53 described this hundreds of years before Jesus came. This is not just a sad story about a man suffering. It is the story of an innocent Savior suffering for people who were not innocent.
If you want to follow Jesus, find a Bible-believing church, be baptized, and talk to a pastor who can help walk you through the early steps of your faith.
