Many people think Christianity is a psychological trick or a magic button that makes all of life's problems disappear. Jesus taught the exact opposite. He warned His followers that they would face suffering, persecution, trials, and hardship. In many cases, following Christ actually made life more difficult for the early Christians. But Christianity is not the promise of a pain-free life. It is the promise that God will not abandon His people in the middle of suffering. The gospel does not remove every storm.
