A worship leader with no private altar is just a singer with a microphone. That is not a criticism. It is a diagnosis. And the first time around, it was mine. I built everything in the wrong order. I led in public long before I worshipped in private. I learned to carry a room before I learned to carry a secret place. And by the time I noticed the gap, years had already gone. The anointing you are chasing on the platform is not formed on the platform. It is formed in the place nobody sees. The same hour, the same surrender, repeated until it becomes who you are. If I started today, before the set list, before the rehearsal, before any of it, I would give God my mornings. I would learn to sing to him with the door shut. I would learn his presence in private so I am never performing his presence in public. The full video is on my YouTube channel.
